Report on Tumkur Central Prison Visit

The Prison Ministry Department under the Socio-Economic Concerns Committee (SEC) of our Diocese had the blessed opportunity to visit the Tumkur Central Prison on 12th September 2025. This ministry visit was a meaningful time of worship, prayer, and sharing of God’s Word with the inmates. Out of nearly 300 prisoners, 180 participated in the prayer service with great eagerness. Many were visibly moved by the message of hope and transformation through Christ.
A special moment during the program was when about 40 prisoners came forward for personal prayers, seeking comfort, guidance, and renewal in their lives. This powerful response reflected the working of the Holy Spirit and the deep hunger for God’s peace among those behind bars.
We express our heartfelt gratitude to our Bishop, the Officers of the Diocese, the Chairperson, and the Convenor of SEC for their constant encouragement and support in sustaining this ministry. We also record our sincere thanks to Rev. Manoj, Tumkur Area Chairman, for his thoughtful sponsorship of soaps for the prisoners, an act of love that deeply touched them.
We humbly seek your continued prayers and support to strengthen this vital ministry of compassion and hope.
