Bishop Rt Rev Martin Charlus Borgai originates from Dharwad. He is the Son of Mr Charles Bhaskarappa Borgai and Mrs Saroja Charles Borgai. He has completed his studies in Dharwad. He is married to Mrs Prema Borgai and together they have been blessed with three children, namely Mr Roger, Mr David, and Ms Deborah. In 2008, he embarked on his journey in the Ministry of Diaconate, followed by his entry into the Ministry of Presbyterate in 2009. Through God's grace, he was consecrated as the Bishop of the Church of South India and assumed the role of the Sixth Bishop of Karnataka Northern Diocese (KND) in 2021. Throughout his ministerial journey, he has served in different regions including Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra, and more. In addition to being the Bishop of KND, he also serves as the chairman of the Karnataka Theological College Council and the Karnataka Inter Diocesan Administrative Finance & Property (KID AF&P) Board Bengaluru. On May 3, 2024, he was appointed as the Bishop-in-Charge of the Karnataka Central Diocese by Justice R Balasubramanian and Justice V Bharathidasan, Administrators of the CSI Synod in Chennai.
