Diocese Christmas Celebration

Diocese Christmas Celebration: A Gathering of Gratitude, Hope, and Joy

The Diocese celebrated Christmas on December 06, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Bishop Cotton Girls’ School Auditorium. The celebration brought together members from across the Diocese for a meaningful time of worship, fellowship, and thanksgiving.

The programme began with breakfast, setting a warm and welcoming tone for the day.

The worship service was centred on the theme of hope, with the Secretary of the Diocese, Rev. Christopher Samuel, preaching a sermon that encouraged the congregation to trust in God’s presence and promises revealed through the birth of Christ. During the celebration, retired Diocesan employees were felicitated by the Officers of the Diocese in grateful recognition of their faithful service and dedicated contributions to the life and ministry of the Church. On this occasion, a meditation book titled Hope in the Fragmented World was formally released. The book contains meditations on Advent, Christmas, and Epiphany, thoughtfully contributed by pastors of the Diocese. It serves as a valuable spiritual resource, inviting reflection on God’s enduring hope amid the complexities and brokenness of today’s world.

The celebration was enriched by joyful singing led by the children’s choir, joined by Diocesan staff, pastors, heads of institutions, wardens, and members of the congregation. Their active participation added vibrancy and a deep sense of community to the gathering. The Diocesan Christmas celebration concluded with lunch.
