Palm Sunday City Rally
The Bangalore City Area Council conducted the Palm Sunday Rally on Sunday, 10th April 2022. Participants from various Churches in Bangalore City Area assembled in St. Peter’s Telugu Church, where the registration took place. The presbyter, Rev. Isaac Prasanna Kumar, and PC members welcomed all the members with snacks. Praise and Worship was conducted by St. Peter’s Telugu Church before the procession proceeded along with tableaus to Mithralya Girls’ High School.
The City Area Youths led the Praise and Worship and the Children’s Choir of Shanthi Church rendered a Special Song. This was followed by Choreography presentations. Rev. Dr. Dexter S Maben, Vice President of Karnataka Central Diocese, gave the message on the theme of the Rally “Hosanna: Lord Save Us”. Rev. George Jaya Prabhu, Associate Treasurer of the Diocese, Rev. G. S. Shalini, Director – Sunday School Department KCD and Rev. Dr. Manohar Chandra Prasad brought greetings. This was followed by the honoring of the retired presbyters and the Sunday School Superintendents who have put in more than 25 years of ministry among the children. All the Presbyters were also presented with a memento. The participants were provided with refreshments and gifts sponsored by the Bishop Cotton Boys’ School.
On the 9th of April 2022 various competitions for Sunday School children were conducted in Hudson Memorial Church, the prizes for which were distributed on the 10th April 2022 during the public function. We are grateful to the Principals of Bishop Cotton Boys’ School, Bishop Cotton Women’s Christian College, Mithralaya Girls High School, the Presbyters-in-Charge of St. Peter’s Telugu Church, Hudson Memorial Church, St. Luke’s Church, Mr. Reginald Jagadish, Mrs. Agnes Caroline, Mr. Daniel Prathap and all the other donors without whose support the Rally would not have been a success. It was gratifying to note that more than 1000 persons took part in the Competitions and Rally.
