Free Medical Camp - Civil Area

Date: 25th and 26thJune 2022, Saturday and Sunday.
Time: Saturday 10 am - 3pm & Sunday 11am - 3pm
Place: St. John’s Community Centre, St.John’s Church; St. John’s School , St. John’s Church Road, Bangalore.

Inauguration and Highlights:
The Free Health Clinic started with the Opening Prayer by Rev. Navin K. John, Presbyter-in-charge, St. John’s Church. Rev. Y. Justin,Civil Area Chairman,welcomed the Dignitaries, Doctors and the Medical Team with flower bouquets.The inauguration of the Clinic was graced by our Bishop, Rt. Rev. Dr. Prasanna Kumar Samuel,Chairman ,in the presence of Rev.Dr. Dexter S. Maben, Chairman, Medical Committee, and Administrator CSI Hospital, Bangalore,Dr. V.R. Sunil Kumar, Acting Medical Superintendent,CSI Hospital, Bangalore, Mrs. Shanta Susheela, Principal, St. John’s High School, Rev. Christopher Samuel, Assistant Secretary, CSI KCD, Rev. Shanthi Anandarai, Chaplain, CSI Hospital, Bangalore, and Mr. Dinesh, Treasurer, St. John’s High School.

Rev. Dr. Dexter S. Maben gavean overview account on the series of Free Medical Camps held till now in the KGF, City and Tumkur Areas of the Diocese, and elaborated on CSI Hospital’s developmentsat Bangalore - 24 Hours Hospital Pharma, 24 Hours Hospital Laboratory, and Canteen Services between 8 am to10 pm. As suggested by the Bishop, he informed the gathering about looking forward to the partnership with other Mission Hospitals and offering equal access to Health Care and well-being to the community. CSI Hospital Bangalore seeks to be a witness to the Healing Ministry of Christ through excellence in Medical Service, Nursing and Paramedical Education. Heintroduced the Multi-Speciality Consultants and the Team members, including the Cardiologists, Physicians, Gynaecologists, Dental and ENT Surgeons, Orthopedician, Urologist, Intern Doctors, the Nursing and the Radiology Team, and the Management Team of CSI Hospital, Bangalore.

Our Bishop, the Rt. Rev. Dr. Prasanna Kumar Samuel, addressed the gathering, and wished all success and blessed the Team from CSI Hospital, Bangalore. He appreciated their initiative to conduct Free Health Camps in all the Four Areas of the Diocese, offered the Closing Prayer and pronounced the Benediction.

After the Registration, vital signs,weight, blood pressure, blood sugar and SPO2 were checked. With the reports, they consulted theConsultants and Doctors. 45 persons needed ECG, which was done at the Camp.

Totally,131 personsand 30 students from St. John’s Boys Hostel, and 10Senior Citizens from Stephen’s Homeparticipated in the Free Health Camp on the 25th and 26th June, 2022.

They presented with the following complaints:
Cardiac
Gynaecological
Ophthalmic
Orthopaedic
Dental problems
Diabetes
Hypertension
Skin allergies and Dermatological problems
Hypothyroidism
Myalgia and
ENT problems.

Doctors advised them and prescribed medicines. 57 persons were referred to CSI Hospital, Bangalore for further follow-up. Persons who required further investigations were advised to get the following tests done.

ECHO, HBA1C, Lipid Profile, TSH, CBC, Serum Creatinine, Pap Smear, Pelvic Scan, and X-ray Cervical Spine. They were also advised Ophthalmology, Dental consultations and Physiotherapy.

For persons who attended the Free Health Clinic, Doctors’ Consultation Fee would be free for their first follow-up visit at the CSI Hospital, Banglaore.

We thank everyone who contributed in making a small beginning towards ‘Equal Access to Health Care and Well being’ a reality.
