Combined May Day Celebrations
A worker is a creator and great asset to every nation
It is a unique tradition of Karnataka Central Diocese to celebrate and honour the service rendered by the Maintenance Staff of all the institutions under its wings. May Day celebrations were held on 22nd May 2022 in Bishop Cotton Women’s Christian college.
As the maintenance staff arrived they were treated with a delectable platter which they enjoyed. After which fun filled games and activities such as filling the bottle, bombing the city, were held to encourage physical activity and lighten up the atmosphere and make them blissful. The non-teaching staff enthusiastically participated in the various games. The winners were recognized and prizes were distributed immediately to the winners of the various games by the Officers of the Diocese.

Praise and worship team led the staff in singing praise to God. The songs were rendered in different vernacular languages. The praise and worship instilled a feeling of gratitude and acknowledgement for the great and mighty acts of God in our lives. The programme commenced with a congregational hymn “Praise to the Lord Almighty the King of Creation. ‘’
“Pray on believing ones
God’s promised Word is sure”
Rev. George Jeyaprabhu, Associate Treasurer invoked God’s blessings with an opening prayer.
Dr. Lavanya Mithran, Convener, Education Committee, KCD, the steering force for this programme welcomed the gathering. Rev. Christopher Samuel, Assistant Secretary, KCD, greeted the gathering and wished the labourers who have strived and laboured consistently in the KCD institutions.

Rt. Rev. Dr. P. K. Samuel, Bishop, KCD, delivered God’s message as to how God acknowledges and rewards a good and faithful servant. Our Bishop encouraged our staff to continue to render their faithful service and to be accountable to our Master God.
Every good gift comes from the Father God (James1:17)
The staff who had completed their service in various institutions of the KCD were honoured by the Bishop Rt. Rev. Dr. P. K. Samuel, and Dr. Lavanya Mithran, Convenor, Education Committee, KCD along with the Principals of respective KCD institutions.
Dr. D Revina Rebecca, Principal, Bishop Cotton Women’s Christian College, proposed the Vote of thanks, followed by Maintenance Staff of few institutions honouring the Bishop as a mark of gratitude. The programme came to an end with closing prayer by Rev. Dr. Dexter S. Maben, Vice President, KCD and benediction by the Bishop Rt. Rev. Dr. P. K. Samuel.
The celebration ended with a lunch and all the maintenance staff were given gifts as a token of appreciation.
