BCWCC-PUC Sports Day 2025: A Resounding Success
Our 35th annual Sports Day, held on September 10, 2025, was a spectacular display of athleticism, teamwork, and college spirit. The event was graced by the presence of our distinguished chief guest, Dr. Preethi, an alumna, renowned international swimmer, and dentist. She went on to win numerous gold medals at the Junior National level and proudly represented our country in international competitions. To her credit, she has an extraordinary record — 44 gold, 56 silver, and 30 bronze medals across state, zonal, and national meets, in addition to individual championships at the state level. She has also distinguished herself in the field of academics. A dentistry graduate, she earned two University Gold Medals from Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences for securing the highest marks in the state, and was the college topper in all four years of her dental program. Presently, she is pursuing her Master’s in Public Health from Ramachandra Medical College and Research Institute, Chennai. Mrs. Soumya N Prasad principal of bishop Cotton Women’s Christian Independent PU college welcomed our esteemed board members Mr. Devadas saadhu-Vice Chairman, Rev. Paul Dinakaran-City Area Chairman, Mr. Gladson Kunder- Treasurer, Mr. Raj Alexander- Executive committee member , Mr. Anil Carlson- Education committee member and our dear principals from sister institutions Dr. Revina Rebecca- Bishop cotton Women’s Christian Colllege, Dr. Indrani- Bishop Cotton Women’s Christian Law College, Mrs. Monica-United Mission School, Mrs. Beula- Mithralaya High School.
The day kicked off with a vibrant march-past. Students paraded with immense pride, their class flags soaring high against the sky, each contingent showcasing unique and creative themes. The energy was palpable as participants and spectators alike celebrated the start of a fantastic day.
Then the torch bearers were invited to carry the flame forward. The torchbearers carry the flame, a symbol of hope and unity, guiding the way for all to follow. They pass on a legacy with light pride.
• Karen Elena, a national-level swimmer and athlete, has won 28 golds, 3 silvers, and 1 bronze in athletics.
• Sarah Gabbur, is a state level cricketer. She has represented Karnataka in the BCCI under 15 one day trophy Played under 19 Karnataka Zonal Tournament.
• Gauri, is a State and International Level Rock Climber.
• Tania, dedicated basketball player won several gold, silver and bronze medals.
• Taruna, have won 70 medals across tournaments as a dedicated basketball player.
• Varshini, holds the rank of Lance Corporal in the NCC.
• Lakshmi, NCC cadet and district level Kabbadi and kho-kho player.
• Azerline Jaireh, state level athlete.
• Nithya, Indian water polo, has 8 state golds, national medals, a history-making senior bronze, Best Player honors, and a U-21 India camp call-up.
Students captivated the audience with a perfectly synchronized Zumba routine, demonstrating both coordination and enthusiasm. The competition was fierce, with students giving their all in every event. We are incredibly proud to announce the outstanding achievements of our athletes.
The sports day concluded with the retreat marchpast and prize distribution. The entire event was executed flawlessly, a testament to the hard work and planning of everyone involved. Thank you to all the participants, teachers, staff, and guests who made this year's Sports Day an unforgettable success.
