VBS Teachers Training 2023 City and Civil Area
The Sunday School Department of Nurture and witness Committee (KCD) organized a full day VBS Teachers Training on Saturday the 25th March,2023, at Bishop Cotton Girls’ School Auditorium, The theme for VBS-2023 is “Serve One Another” from Galatians 5:12. Our beloved Bishop the Rt. Rev. Dr. Prasana Kumar Samuel, inaugurated the program and emphasised on the aspect of “Serving One Another” by reflecting on Jesus washing the feet of his disciples.
Mr. Lazar Danam Kati, the Interim Director for VBS Ministries, Bangalore, brought greetings and precisely introduced the daily themes. Around 400 Sunday school teachers from Civil and City Area, involved in VBS in their churches participated in the program.
The pastors from KCD were facilitators for the program. Every pastor helped the teachers to reflect the theme from children’s context and make it relevant to the church and society. I sincerely thank Rev. Christopher Samuel Devanesan (Asst Secretary-KCD) Rev. Victor Prabhakar (Director, Prison Ministry),Rev. Rachael (Socio and Economic Concerns Committee - Convener), Rev. Shilpa Vinay, Rev. Christy Gnanadasan (Ministerial Convener KCD),Rev. Ruth Rekha, Rev. Sudhakar Joshua, Rev. Sushma, Rev. Navin K John (Nurture and Witness Committee- Convener) and Rev. Solomon Paul (Director- CEC) for enlightening the participants.
I would also like to express my sincere gratitude to Rev. Amos Suresh, Rev. Sushma, Rev. Louis Nelson, Rev. Samuel Pradeep, Rev. Solomon Devakumar and Rev. Samson for keeping the sessions lively with relevant activities.
The training helped the teachers to perceive a wider understanding of the theme having the scripture passages as the source. I also acknowledge the presence of Rev. George Jayaprabhu (Associate Treasurer-KCD), Rev. Paul Dhinakar (Chairperson-City Area) Rev. Justin (Chairperson-Civil Area), Rev. Immanuel Nehemiah (Director-Youth Dept) and Rev. K Soniya for gracing the occasion.
My sincere thanks to Prof. Lavanya Mithran, the Principal, Mr. Vinodh Dasan, the Treasurer and the staffs of Bishop Cotton Girls’ School for hosting the event. I also Thank the Volunteers and the singing team for leading and teaching songs for each sessions with actions.
